Sobia understood exactly where our daughter needed support in order to pass the 13+ assessments for various London schools. In just 2.5 weeks, Sobia had assessed where our daughter had some gaps in her knowledge, created a personalised plan, and provided the patient and creative tutoring our daughter needed. Sobia has been a fantastic support to our son preparing him for his 13+ at his chosen school both in assessments and interview preparation. We needed a tutor within quite a tight time frame and then we found Sobia. Online learning is very different to the classroom experience, however she managed to facilitate the necessary warmth, support and collaborative working practices with ease. She is incredibly intuitive in her questioning and answering skills, enthusing and building confidence at the same time. Her pleasant and calm approach was an asset, enabling our son to make excellent progress, all of which was done without the hot housing experience. I was unsure how productive online tutoring would help my daughter, as she is very capable but her main issue is confidence, Sobia's kind and positive approach as well as an outstanding knowledge of maths, science and english has helped my daughter immensely. Sobia came to help our son with his 13+ assessments just after the summer. She was able to make what turned out to be a very accurate assessment of our son's calibre and pinpointed specifics on those bits that needed to be developed. Sobia understands the child's personality and works with him to get the best out of him. She is calm, has a mildly cajoling manner and yet can be very subtly firm when it demands (which was needed for our son can get distracted very easily)!
He passed his ISEB, was called for interview to all of them and we then engaged her for a handful of sessions on creative writing and interview techniques. For a child who wasn't keen on essays, the very clear yet few tactics on obvious areas to improve on helped tremendously to enable our son to clear Eton! We cant thank her enough and will happily recommend to whoever it is needed.

Sobia has been amazing and provided a friendly and constructive approach to my daughter's tutoring. With her help and advice, my daughter was able to get accepted into her school of choice. Sobia began working with our daughter approximately 1 month before she was due to take 13+ Entrance Exams at various Independant Schools in the UK. Living overseas, we experienced online tutoring for the first time and although we were somewhat apprehensive at first as to whether this would work for our daughter, Sobia quickly banished those fears and as the weeks passed by we could see our daughter's confidence in her ability to do well in the Exams growing and growing.
Net result our daughter was accepted at 3 highly rated Independent Schools and waitlisted at a fourth. This included the award of a Discretionary Academic Scholarship that we hadn't even applied for!!!

I initially contacted Owl Turtors in a panic as my daughter was due to take the 13+ common entrance exam in 7 weeks and was feeling unprepared and was lacking in confidence. Owl put us in touch with Sobia for online tutoring sessions. As my daughter had never participated in online tutoring she was a little apprehensive about how this would work however she needn’t have worried because within 15 minutes of meeting Sobia she felt totally at ease with her. Sobia quickly identified my daughters strengths and also the areas that she needed to work on. She taught her some excellent exam techniques and also built up her confidence. The quality of tutoring that Sobia delivers is of such a high standard and it was a pleasure to observe how she would guide the child to discover the answer themselves instead of just providing them with the answer. Sobia is very personable, patient and friendly and although she is a master in her field she tutors with such a calm, kind and fun manner my daughter really did not want the sessions to end. I felt that every minute of the session was spent learning; there was never any time wasted and if I ever needed to talk to Sobia she would ensure this was done before the session started or after it had ended.
My daughter went on to pass both of her exams and has so far received 1 offer and we have our fingers crossed for the 2nd.
I would not hesitate to utilise Sobia again in future.

Sobia worked with our daughter for entrance exams to 3 competitive schools. The challenge was that we had very little time to prepare, only a few weeks in fact. Sobia engaged our daughter very positively, quickly struck up a good rapport and identified how best to motivate and engage our daughter. Sobia effectively reduced the stress of the short time frame and exams, both supporting and challenging her to take on new material across English, Maths ,VR and NVR. Sobia’s intervention was very focused and targeted. Our daughter was shortlisted for two of the three schools after the test.

(My son) was tutored by Sobia over the past six months in preparation for the Scholarship exams in Harrow.
Before the classes, he had a more technical bias and focused his reading on documentaries and non-fictional literature. Sobia certainly encouraged my son to understand and analyse different types of poetry and prose. She taught him how to analyse any piece of literature in depth, giving enough details and paying attention to the specificity of language devices and techniques. (My son) practiced these skills by doing past papers and Sobia provided very helpful, very detailed and specific feedback that allowed to really zero on the areas of improvement. (My son) now has much more confidence to form a clear view on the meaning and hence can comment more effectively. He has become more enthusiastic about reading and now can provide very compelling interpretations.

We have known and worked with Sobia for nearly four years (in which time she has helped both of my daughters with GSCEs and sixth from entrance exams) and we honestly could no recommend her highly enough, particularly if you have children who want to do well and are motivated.
Sobia is extremely unusual in that she is equally brilliant at teaching the sciences and English. What makes her so effective in her science is her ability to really break down concepts and ensure that they are fully understood, not simply learnt. In English she skillfully coaxes students into expressing their own unique take on the texts and then helps them ladder these up into the major themes (rather than just teaching the themes).
Sobia manages to demand the best from her students in the time she has with them, but the room is always filled with animated conversation and laughter.
She is truly committed to delivering a bespoke approach and is someone who is all about building confidence. She is kind and caring without taking any nonsense, and the result is that students want to be the best they can be.

I saw Sobia for four sessions in preparation for my QTS Maths test, having recently failed the test. During the sessions we worked through the questions I had struggled with in my revision, and Sobia explained the solutions to me in ways that I could more easily understand. She also showed me some very useful shortcuts in method for the timed mental arithmetic, which meant that I was able to answer the questions in the given time. Over our sessions I grew in confidence, and Sobia was very supportive in honing my exam technique so that I wouldn't panic when faced with difficult questions in the timed section. I passed the test after my four sessions with Sobia, and I couldn't recommend her enough!
